Two long standing pillars in Bermuda’s health, fitness and wellness community are joining forces to offer members the widest array of fitness options. The Athletic Club (TAC) has acquired The Olympic Club, a move that will nearly double TAC’s membership as it celebrates its 30th anniversary. Currently no job losses are anticipated as a result of this new acquisition.
The immediate benefits for members of both clubs include a fitness class schedule with 65 different classes offered weekly. Members will also have access to TAC’s spa facilities which also includes full services by beauty and sports massage therapists.
TAC is also offering special discounts on memberships. For a one-year commitment members can sign up for full benefits for $125 a month, or at $399 for three-month memberships. There’s also personalized training sessions for small groups of four to six members for a total of $140 per session. Each session runs for 55 minutes with a personal trainer.
The Athletic Club is owned and operated by Kym Herron Scott who lives by the holistic approach to wellness. “TAC offers members personal attention and results at convenient and affordable facilities,” she said. “This merger will be excellent for those taking their first steps on their wellness journey, avid fitness enthusiasts and hard core athletes as we combine our strengths in the marketplace giving our customers the best of both Bermudian businesses.”
The Olympic Club owner Scott Stallard is no newbie to the market with over 30 years in the fitness industry. As friendly competitors he said: “The respect we have for each other, along with our shared values and mutual trust, played an important role in the transaction.” Together they are the longest term authorities on fitness in Bermuda making “Perfect Fit” the mantra for the new company preparing for the road ahead.
“Our goal, from the beginning, has been to make the transition as seamless as possible for our members, clients, employees and suppliers,” said Ms. Herron Scott. “We’re taking our time conducting business as usual for both venues, while looking at the best each company has to offer. We are confident that as we focus on investing in the best services and products, the client will see the greater value of the new TAC brand. And we encourage previous members of both companies to return home to a new business model of more than just a gym.”
